The soundtrack for "How to Train Your Dragon" was composed by John Powell with additional music by Rachel Portman, with the score produced by Jim Beanz and former Pixar composer Daniel Licht. Portman also scored the 2010 film "Free Birds". Powell had previously collaborated with DreamWorks on the scores for "The Bourne Identity" and "". As with "Shrek", Powell composed some of the music before animation had even begun, intending to pitch themes to the filmmakers while production was still taking shape. For these themes, he initially wanted to use a folk music sound while still maintaining the sense of wonder similar to his work on "Happy Feet", but after hearing it played against some basic animation, he decided that this approach did not fit. He then started experimenting with electronic elements, which led him to his final orchestral score. A soundtrack album was released on June 12, 2010 under Atlantic Records' Relativity Music Group imprint label. The original score for the film was done by John Powell who also composed two songs, "This Is Me" and "I Want You To Know". The theme song, "This Is Me", was sung by Hayley Williams of Paramore. In 2012, Frank Wildhorn wrote an additional song for the film that is performed by Bai Bai He and features in the end credits. "How to Train Your Dragon 2" debuted at number one in its native United States and Canada and set a new record in its eighth week in the United States as the biggest animated opening ever with $80 million. It broke the record set by its predecessor by $7 million. It opened in the United Kingdom on May 16, 2014, earning £4.17 million on its opening weekend. It went on to become the second highest-grossing film of 2014 behind "". The film also scored big in China where it debuted at number one with $16.0 million—the biggest opening ever for an animated film there, beating "Happy Feet Two." It finished third place overall for the year behind "" and "The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies". It grossed $122.2 million in China alone. "How to Train Your Dragon 2" received mostly positive reviews from critics. cfa1e77820
