Golden Boy is a manga that follows the life of protagonist Kintarō Asada, who enters the professional world of boxing. He meets various people in his boxing career and makes friends along the way. There are also many characters with problems, whether it be to do with poverty or mental health. One character suffers from dementia, one is deaf-mute and has never had contact with other people before, and another has suicidal tendencies due to her crossdressing brother who abuses her for his pleasure. Kintarō takes these characters under his wing as he progresses in both sportsmanship and maturity himself. The art style of Golden Boy is very different from what you might expect from a typical manga series. Most of the action is shown through two-page spreads or larger panels, but the manga has a very large amount of smaller panels which are used for background detail, facial expressions and even showing what is happening around Kintarō at that moment. The Golden Boy anime was released on 5 July 2006. The first DVD volume was released on 21 August 2006. The series lasted 25 episodes until 28 December 2006. There are four DVDs released in the Doraemon Movie Box collection. Its opening song is by Aya Kamiki and its ending theme is by Masami Okui. The second DVD box set contains all of the extras from the first two DVDs, including music videos and interviews with the cast. The DVD was released on 9 March 2007. The Golden Boy film was released on 10 November 2007 in Japan. The film is a half-comedy, half-serious story about Kintarō's life after the series ended. It is divided into two parts, "Part A" and "Part B". In the first part, Kintarō meets a girl named Moe Sakura who falls in love with him. However, he finds out that she is a biological robot and decides to live a normal life with his boxing coach and his friends. In the second part, he finds himself in a boxing tournament and finds out that Sakura is still alive and finds out that she has been captured and is being held captive by Koji Tanaka, who thinks that she may be the key to some mystery about the current world. In February 2015, Aniplex of America announced on its "Diver City" blog on Aniplex Channel its plan to release Golden Boy as an OVA series on DVD, Blu-ray Disc and Blu-ray Combination Disc. The first episode was released on 22 July 2015. The OVA starts where the Golden Boy TV ending left off. The ending of the original TV series had Kintaro walking away from his friends to Sakura, who is revealed to be a robot made by Koji Tanaka. The OVA continues that story, but sheds more light on Sakura's origins and why Koji would go through the trouble of making her. cfa1e77820
